A few weeks ago, Twitter unveiled it purchased Revue, an email marketing business. The idea was to offer Twitter users an opportunity to have long-form communication with their followers rather than 280 characters.
So I dabbled with the new feature and I have to say it is pretty neat and VERY simple to use.
As a refresher, here is my previous post about the changes Twitter is making.
It's still early to tell how good or bad this will do. But, it's a new feature and utilizing new features is a great way to up engagement and awareness because we're testing it out.
And here's the best part about the feature. It's free.
So here's how it works:
STEP 1
On your Twitter home page, go to the navigation menu and click on "More"
STEP 2
Click on "Newsletter"
STEP 3
Click on "Find Out More"
STEP 4
Click on "Add New Issue"
STEP 5
Starting adding to your newsletter from Tweets you sent
From there you can arrange them in any order you like.
STEP 6
Once done, click on "Schedule"
STEP 7
STEP 8
You will have to add subscribers here either manually or by importing.
IMPORTANT: You have to have permission to add someone to an email newsletter list. You will be prompted of that during set up of the newsletter. It won't let you send it unless you have that person's permission. The list doesn't automatically go to your Twitter followers.
To recruit followers/subscribers, your profile page gives you a link that you can share on your social media platforms.
